SK Telecom selects Ericsson to Extend LTE Network in Korea

Ericsson announced that the company has signed a contract with SK Telecom for LTE (Long Term Evolution) service offering expansion in Korea, according to a May 3, 2012 press release by Ericsson. LG-Ericsson, Ericsson's operating unit in Korea, is reported to carry out the network extension project, and the project is slated to complete in the first half of 2012. LTE subscriber base of SK Telecom currently arrives at approximately 2.4 million, according to the same source. As per the deal, LG-Ericsson will provide LTE network and services, including engineering, design, deployment, and supports.
